| The Canrail Pass does not guarantee a seat on a specific train service, and unlike most European railpasses, passengers require a ticket to travel as well as their railpass. Seat reservations are free of charge, and recommended at peak times, they can be made at any Via rail station in Canada. Sleeping accommodation varies in cost according to the actual sleeper chosen, as per seats they can be booked at any VIA rail station in Canada. Please be aware that overnight journeys are counted as two days of the railpass. Between 1st June and 15th October inclusive sleeping accommodation reservations between Toronto and Vancouver, and points in-between, can only be made within 21 days of departure. If travelling overnight and you do not wish to buy a sleeper supplement, your Canrail Pass travel is valid for travel in a reclining seat, and VIA Rail provides you with a pillow and blanket. |

| As a Canrail Pass holder you are entitled to a seat in Economy or Comfort class. For a surcharge you can travel in First class accommodation, like Sleeper or VIA 1 for example. During the peak summer season it is also possible to upgrade to Silver and Blue class, available between Vancouver and Toronto, but this can only be arranged in the 21 days prior to departure. |
