The Inter Rail Global pass entitles the holder to unlimited rail travel on 31 national rail networks of participating European countries, including the ferry between Italy and Greece operated by 'Attica'. The Inter Rail Global is available in 3 types (Adult 1st class, Adult 2nd class and Under 26 2nd class). Your age on the first day of travel determines the type of pass that needs to be purchased.
Please be aware that Morocco is no longer participating in the Interrail offer.
The Interrail Global pass is available in 4 different validities, as follows:
- 5 days of travel within 10 days - Flexi
- 10 days of travel within 22 days - Flexi
- 22 days - Consecutive
- 1 month - Consecutive

The Interrail Global railpass is available to European Residents only - anybody who normally lives in Europe or has lived in Europe, or any of the countries participating in the Interrail offer, for at least six months immediately prior to the first day of travel.

Residents of the following 18 countries are also entitled to buy the Interrail pass, and their country of residence should be considered the country in which they purchase the pass (however they will NOT be entitled to free travel in that particular country)
- Albania, Andorra, Belarus, Cyprus, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Iceland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Russia, San Marino, Ukraine, Vatican City

Passes can only be issued up to a maximum of three months in advance of travel. A valid passport must be held and carried with you at all times. Seat reservation fees, couchette and sleeper fees are chargeable extras. Supplements and/or special fares are payable on the services listed below - when a supplement is due this is usually inclusive of seat reservation and the cost is variable between €uro 0.70 and €uro 25; if a special Interrail fare is applicable this depends on the route/date/class of travel and the time the reservation is actually made.

Passes are not valid on the German Railways 'Metropolitan' services between Hamburg-Essen and Dusseldorf-Cologne.

The ferry company included with your Interrail pass is 'Attica Enterprises' (EA), which operates from Ancona, Bari and Brindisi (Italy) to Corfu, Igoumenitsa and Patras (Greece).
|

Many other ferry companies offer discounts - often between 30% to 50%. It is always wise to ask during your travel showing your Interrail Global pass to the ferry company booking office.
The Interrail Global pass is not valid in the country of residence, and each railway administration is autonomous in fixing a reduced fare to the border, under the condition that this must be at least 25% off the regular fare. Please be aware that the railways of Great Britain do not offer any discount, effectively being the only European country of the Interrail offer who does not offer discount to UK residents buying an Interrail pass.
